Welcome to WPSLA
WPSLA is the Western Pennsylvania affiliate of the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association. We aim to serve regional, K-12 school librarians in their practice and professional development through community, support, and learning opportunities.

PROFESSIONAL EVENTS |
ANNUAL DINNER |
WPSLA offers a minimum of five professional development events each school year. Hosted by our own members and developed through the Steering Committee, these events focus on different topics and take different forms. From book talks in a coffee house to hands on learning at local museums, we're open to all types of learning!
STEERING COMMITTEEThe Steering Committee serves to organize events and make suggestions from members a reality. On the back end, the Steering Committee maintains the financial and virtual life of WPSLA, as well as affiliate status with PSLA.

A big Italian, family style dinner is the annual trademark event. Each year dozens of librarians gather together to share stories, support each other, celebrate the conclusion of another school year, and learn about the political & educational advancements of libraries in South Western Pennsylvania.
REGIONAL STRENGTHWPSLA brings together librarians (and some administrators) from over 40 different schools and 4 different Intermediate Units. Join us today!

All the Tools You Need to Succeed
Whether it's for you or to share with those around you, WPSLA is committed to offering Professional Development that is relevant and forward thinking. WPSLA focuses on offering members what they want and is always open to suggestions for programming.
|
Often solo in our districts or buildings, often misunderstood by professionals around us, WPSLA creates space for librarians to come together and support each other. Through socializing, problem solving, and advocating, WPSLA is a team.
